The first day of shooting for Tomorrow, When The War Began – The Series is now achieved. The cast is excited to bring all characters to life and thanks to the series’ official Facebook page we are lucky enough to get a short on-set video of the eight actors in their character’s outfits for the first time!
Meanwhile, ABC Commercial has already announced it has secured all streaming, digital download and DVD distribution rights in Australia and New Zealand to the series, which is expected to premiere on ABC3 in early 2016.

Ambience Entertainment, in collaboration with Mullinars Casting, released a photoshoot and simultaneously announced the names of the upcoming TV-series’ protagonists, a rich mix of young talents ready to play the eight characters based on the most influential YA book series in Australia’s history.

TV Tonight revealed new production info on the future Tomorrow, When The War Began TV series adaptation. The six-part drama airing on ABC3 will be produced by Michael Boughen (pictured) and executive produced by Matthew Street and Christopher Mapp, who previously worked on Tomorrow, When The War Began‘s theatrical adaptation. The writing staff will feature Blake Ayshford (Devil’s Playground, An Accidental Soldier, The Straits), Alice Addison (The Hunter, The Silence, RAN: Remote Area Nurse), Justin Monjo (Serangoon Road, The Turning, The Alice) and Josh Mapleston (Maximum Choppage, Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars, McLeod’s Daughters). Promising news from The Courier Mail! A TV adaptation of Tomorrow, When the War Began is currently casting for 7 teenagers aged 16 – 19.
The movie franchise may have abruptly concluded with a just singular first chapter, but producers may have found a more cost-effective way to tell the further stories of our beloved Aussie teenagers.
The small screen version will be a 6 part drama produced in Melbourne from August to October by Ambience Entertainment with Brendan Maher directing. A broadcaster has not been disclosed, but we’ll keep you posted!
The series is gaining popularity in Poland! The fourth novel, Darkness Be my Friend (Jutro 4), has been translated into Polish surprisingly fast and will be released soon. The beautiful cover art has been added to the gallery! Quercus Publishing is also releasing the second book, The Dead Of The Night, on January 5th 2012 in the UK. Over the last days I made some additions and fixes to the gallery! I’ll keep updating it and add content as soon as new stills, book covers or any Tomorrow Series picture pops up! The website is almost complete so keep checking back for fresh, awesome content! The video section is on its way!
I’ve added 15 photoshoot pictures of Tomorrow, When The War Began’s promotional campaign and more HQ stills, some of them are deleted scenes! In the meantime we’re hoping to hear news on The Dead Of The Night, filming was supposed to start last September but it looks like we’ll have to wait longer for that.
